Out of all the impressive features for Blend, the one that hits home for me as a long time designer is the new import options. Typically tricks and workarounds are all us designers have when trying to bring in our work from competing software to the Microsoft platform. It’s gotten slowly better over the years, but historically ‘playing nice’ hasn’t been a core area of concern.

However, this issue was more than addressed in Blend 3. Photoshop and Illustrator files are easily imported with editable layers and continuity in place. Blend also allows for individual layer importation, so you can bring in as much or as little as you like. You can even adjust previously built gradients and transparencies from Photoshop and Illustrator in Blend. An end to the back and forth between the software suites is a much needed change of pace.
