Our esteemed Phizzpop Judges
Last week I traveled to Minneapolis to help the 5 teams brave enough to enroll in Phizzpop. The weather was nothing short of arctic but it was exciting to see the agencies ideas come to light. The design problem dealt with retail, online and brick and mortar. As I visited the teams on my first day, I was impressed. Not only by their downtown manufacturing loft space, with romper rooms for pitches and parties and rooftop patios, but blown away by the passion, ideas and pure creative will of each team and its members. I saw things I was not expecting; a fully redesigned retail layout with coffee lounges, an almost spiritual way of connecting with friends and family, a shared cupboard concept for neighbors, a digital grocery list that acts more like an online brain.
The evening of the Phizzpop event was the coldest, a bruising -47 degrees. But Minneapolites rolled in unphased and the venue soon filled to the seams. The agencies; Moov (formerly Gestalt), Hanson, Inc., Zeus Jones with the help of Sierra Bravo, Space150, and Colle McVoy. All teams put on a well polished show. Zeus Jones and Sierra Bravo were the declared winner and will be traveling to Austin for SXSW Interactive to battle it out in the final competition. Thank you to every one of the team members, you all made my week!
